HARRODS OUTLET TO OPEN IN WEST LONDON ON 3 JULY
The legend that is Harrods, one of the world’s most famous department stores, is opening a Covid-secure outlet store next month
Harrods, the bastion of diamonds, £85 sandwiches and parking spot for supercars, is making what, pre-COVID-19, would have been an unthinkable step – the global shopping institution is opening an outlet store.
The 80,000 sq ft store, which will take over Debenham’s old spot (RIP), will open on 3 July 2020, sprawling over two floors to shift this season’s remaining stock while supporting social distancing.
Designed prior to the new one metre-plus social distancing measures, the Harrods Outlet concept store has been designed to create a more relaxed environment for those wanting to shop while maintaining a safe distance. It also means that Harrods Knightsbridge is able to stock a wider selection of new-season products.
The Harrods Outlet will stock a special edit of womenswear, menswear, beauty, accessories, childrenswear and homewear selected from the Harrods sale, which will also be hosted more widely online.
It’s the first time the famed Harrods sale will take place away from its legendary Knightsbridge store. And while half the fun of shopping at Harrods is, well, shopping at Harrods, the Grade II* listed building doesn’t easily allow for socially distanced shopping.
‘It’s important that our customers will still be treated to the renowned Harrods experience whilst shopping at Harrods Outlet, and this will come from the strength of the edits available in the new concept store,’ said Lydia King, fashion director at Harrods.

‘Some of my must-have picks in store are Zimmerman’s silk wrap dresses, Lisa Marie Fernandez’ effortless essentials and chic swimwear from Matteau. We are known for providing the ultimate in luxury, and the Outlet offering will be no different.’
Annalise Fard, beauty, fine watches & jewellery and accessories director at Harrods, added: ‘As we start to look towards celebrating summer in the UK and planning trips to reconnect with loved ones in the future, our customers will have the opportunity to shop some of the most timeless luggage essentials that will last a lifetime; my favourites include Cellini’s Spinner Cases and the Amalfi Trolleys; perfect for car or cabin.’
The outlet will stock fashion brands such as Balmain, Stella McCartney and Chloe in womenswear and Off-White, Rick Owens, and Thom Browne in menswear, as well as accessories from Tom Ford and Loewe.
Beauty enthusiasts will find some of the most sought-after beauty and makeup must-haves from brands such as Estee Lauder, Gucci Beauty, Chantecaille and Shiseido, as well as the most favoured fragrances from Roja Parfums, Cartier and Bvlgari.
As an added bonus, there will also be weekly product drops of the most coveted pieces from the current season, including the styles from Matteau Swimwear and cult favourite resortwear from Missoni and Zimmerman.
But will you be able to try things on? Yes. A limited number of fitting rooms will be available at the Harrods Outlet. Designated fitting rooms have been designed to accommodate social distancing and will be cleaned between customer use. All customers will be asked to sanitise their hands prior to using the fitting rooms and any items tried on but not purchased will be quarantined for 48 hours, as per industry guidelines.
Harrods Outlet will be open Mon-Sat from 11am-7pm and Sunday from 12pm-6pm at Westfield London Shopping Centre, Ariel Way W12 7GA. For further information on Harrods social distancing and hygiene guidelines see harrods.com
