How to Level Uneven Chipboard Flooring

What you'll need:

A level

2. Once you have identified the uneven areas, use a utility knife to score the surface of the chipboard along the edges of the dip or bump.

3. Use a hammer and nails or screws to secure the wood shims under the edges of the chipboard that are causing the unevenness.

4. Use a level and a straightedge to check the level of the floor again. If necessary, adjust the shims until the floor is level.

5. Once the floor is level, fill in any gaps between the chipboard and the subfloor with floor patch.

6. Allow the floor patch to dry completely before walking on the floor.
